THE LITTLE POET

I like to sit underneath a tree
And count the birdies – one, two,
      three;

I like to stay in a quiet nook
And look at pictures in a book;

I like to watch the setting sun
While other children shout and run;

I love to watch the moon at  night
And try to paint it as I write;

And so sometimes when we talk at school
My playmates say I’m another fool.
