You serve as light that  illumines the path
Of the unfortunates walking, groping in the dark;
        You serve as a guide to those who cannot see;
To those devoid of sight, of their right, exact way.
                 You serve as a road-sign to those who've lost their way;
       You serve as a searchlight to those who've gone astray;
 You serve as strength to those who are weakened;
        A balsam to the sick who are devoid of medicament.
       You serve as a wing for the poor needy,
        That they might be elevated to a Life more lofty;
        You serve as a weapon for the victims of  infirmity,
        To combat the perfidious attitude of high society.
        You serve as an antidote against deplorable diseases
        That have contaminated the heart of modern
               societies;
        You hold back in place the Will that easily sways
        Toward the lures of Temptation that lie in our ways
        Without you Education, the world would be a
                vast stage
        Where Characters in the drama of Life could play
                the rule they like;
        Where Bad would reign o'er Good, and Happiness
                  could be enjoyed
        Only by the rich and wealthy, by the strong powerful.
