It pierced my heart right through me,
In spite of the table between us,
And now, grown familiar,
With my commonplace humaneness,
Perhaps he knows me well enough,
To free tired and bored,
With the dust of my womanhood.
Yet, white wine flowed into each of us,
Fusing ourselves into one body,
Fusing ourselves into one body,
In wild ecstasy, blended, and alive, forever!
