The child-a stranger in the group
Is not normal by his looks,
He needs someone who can approach
He needs many more
Who can comfort.
A stranger he's in the group
The teacher, be the first to stoop
"Class, you have a new friend
Good fellow you will find
Today in our class he's in."
"Welcome" chorus the children
"Come Tony, our little friend,"
Happy the new child becomes
A part of the group he does feel
Happy to go with his peers.
No longer an isolate
Nor a scapegoat or reject
Every child needs to be secure,
With a teacher's love to be sure
A happy atmosphere, a good cure.
Without knowing we're changing,
An abnormal child to a normal being
His personality we are shaping
Into a rounded normal being
Helping him for a happy living.
